Making this festive season great, with community building!

12-8-2022

The Indian calendar is marked by a number of festivals and days of cultural importance, courtesy of its vast diversity and population. These special days often go beyond a break from the routine, each having its own cultural and social significance. They bring in a breath of fresh air and cheer and help rejuvenate our bonds with the people we are involved with on a daily basis. With so many festivals marking our calendars, we Indians have millions of reasons to rejoice every year!

Festivals have a lot of importance in every culture because of their multi-dimensional values. In the Indian subcontinent, however, it goes beyond rituals and worship. Festivals in India are no less than a big carnival, where people rejoice and celebrate together. These festivities help us forge solid and harmonious bonds with family members and society at large.

Celebrating together as a community has become an integral part of our festivals that promotes building a strong cultural belief. These celebrations promote unity and bring us closer to each other’s traditions and cultural beliefs. They help us develop respect and understanding for each other’s customs and traditions and build fraternity and social consciousness.

There is no denying that there is a strong correlation between festivals and communities. They create a sense of belongingness and promote the overall well-being of a community. Think of all the homes and friends you visit during Ganeshotsav or Diwali. Festivals help people engage and build social networks and are a great way to socialise. They keep you attached to your roots. Festivals are a great way to understand India’s rich heritage and cultures and learn more about the reasons behind various festivals.

Celebrations and festivals are integral to our society. But what often comes in the way of our celebrations is the lack of space. With homes being measured in sq.ft and community spaces being taken over, we are left with considerable space constraints that restrict our festivities. While the motto for festivals is generally ‘the more, the merrier’, a lack of space often brings down the guest list or invitees and somehow dampens the festive cheer.

At the core, our celebrations and festivals are all about bonding, building ties, promoting harmony, and community building. At Paranjape Schemes, we understand the role festivals and cultural celebrations play in our social lives. We take pride in our initiative – Happiness Network, which promotes a feeling of togetherness and collective joy amongst Paranjapeans.

One of the perks of owning a home with Paranjape Schemes is the membership to the Happiness Network Club, under which cultural & sports events and competitions are conducted around the year for the Paranjape family. The Happiness Network and various events under it help our community rejuvenate their bonding with the people they are associated with daily.

‘Paranjape Dandiya Raas’ is where people enjoy and dance their hearts out to the traditional beats of Dandiya. ‘Anandghan’, on the other hand, is a platform for all the senior citizens to showcase their talents. ‘Ganarang’, organised during the Ganeshotsav, is an event our community looks forward to the most. Many competitions are arranged this year, as Ganarang is all set to make a comeback offline after two years. From singing competitions to short filmmaking, dance, fashion show, drama and Ganpati decoration, there’s a lot to look out for and enjoy at Ganarang for all.

We believe festivals are the best time to promote community consciousness and build unity and a sense of belongingness for all. They serve as a reminder that no matter what, good triumphs over bad always. Let’s relish in the festive cheer as one this season. Paranjape Schemes wishes you all a blessed and prosperous festive season.
